Sally Asbury

I’ve been doing mosaics for around 11 years now. I’m a member of the British Association for Modern Mosaics since 2013. My work is mainly mosaics although I’ve also made ceramics and tried other art forms. I first joined the Art Trail in 2012, so this will be my 6th year.

Richard Meyer

I spent my working life as a Science Teacher, but always had an interest in the visual arts.
I have been painting for around 11 years and member of the Art Group Wanstead for 6 years.
Most of my work has been in acrylics, Landscapes, and Abstracts. Recently I have concentrated on work in oils with a few portraits, and some sculptural pieces based on natural settings

I am a contemporary artist. My work is about objects, buildings and words.

I have a fascination with the shapes and edges of scratched, used, ordinary stuff marked by traces of memory and experience. For many years my work has explored belonging(s) – not just material possessions, but how we are all attached to places, people, the past and cultural traditions.

Since 2012 I have been working on a big series of tiny paintings made directly onto Polaroids taken around east London, where I live and work. They are about looking up at the sky through the gaps between buildings. A simple but compelling idea. And having made over 400 individual images now, it is a stunning series: “beautiful and accessible” “technically innovative” and highly original.
