Zika virus – update and advice for pregnant women

Pregnant women are advised to reconsider travel to areas where Zika virus (ZIKV) outbreaks are currently reported as further evidence for a possible link between ZIKV infection and congenital malformations emerges. The outbreak of Zika virus (ZIKV) infection in the Americas is ongoing.

ABTA Members are advised to notify customers who have booked travel to areas where Zika virus outbreaks are currently reported, of the updated health advice in regards to pregnant travellers and Zika virus. The countries currently listed are on the WHO website together with links to the FCO travel advice.
